Role Summary The Head of Capital Formation – North America, based in New York, supports the firm's Marketing and Investor Relations Team in managing key relationships with existing investors, attracting new investors, and leading the firm's marketing and fundraising strategy across the North American region. The individual will be responsible for overseeing and executing a regional coverage and engagement strategy across the United States and Canadian markets, ensuring institutional investor and family office market awareness and interaction, via direct representation and through various market forums and industry conferences.
The individual will maintain authority and accountability for all investor and market engagements in the region and participate in the success across a range of firm initiatives across its global office network and various strategic and fund or investment mandate initiatives.
As a Principal/Partner, the role is primarily accountable for marketing and capital raising activities for American and Canadian investors, while also acting as a driving force for ideas and strategic input at executive level and globally.
Key Responsibilities Relationship Management
Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with institutional investors, investment consultants, wealth managers, banks, family offices and other stakeholders. Serving as a primary point of contact for investor inquiries and feedback.
Serving as the main point of contact for institutional investors, analysts and responding to inquiries and managing relationships.
Ensuring all external communications adhere to relevant securities laws and regulations.
Fundraising
Develop and execute comprehensive IR strategies to attract new investors, maintain existing investor confidence, and ensure consistent, compelling messaging aligned with corporate goals.
Coordinate and prepare materials for quarterly earnings calls and annual reports, including press releases, presentations, Q&A, and briefings for senior management.
Identify potential capital sources and lead fundraising initiatives by preparing compelling investment materials like pitch decks and offering memorandums.
Develop and execute investor communication strategies, coordinating meetings, conferences, roadshows, and other engagement events, including creating client reports and marketing materials.
Ensure all investor communications and activities comply with internal reporting standards and regulatory protocols.
Market Intelligence
Analyzing financial results, industry trends, and peer benchmarking data to provide insights to senior management.
Plan and execute investor events, such as conferences, roadshows, webcasts, and annual shareholder meetings.
Candidate Profile Qualifications & Experience
MBA or an advanced degree from a leading university.
Professional certification (CFA, CAIA, other) preferred.
Minimum 15 years of experience working in the financial industry with an industry leading investment firm, a placement agent, or in a Tier‑1 global investment bank.
Proven track record of capital raising with institutional investors, with strong preference for experience in private markets fundraising.
Strong command of industry best practices and legal and regulatory compliance standards.
Deep knowledge of relevant national laws and regulations.
Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
Experience engaging with senior executives and strong ability to project professionalism and credibility.
Personal Attributes
Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
Impeccable ethics and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
