Advanced Practitioner Role Scope The Heart & Vascular Institute seeks an EP Advanced Practitioner Provider (APP) to diagnose, manage, and treat complex cardiac arrhythmias. The APP will operate in a hybrid role, utilizing cardiovascular expertise, ECG interpretation, cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) management, and cardiac ablations. Responsibilities include:
Outpatient ECG interpretation and management of complex arrhythmias.
Pre-procedure risk stratification for EP procedures.
Prescribing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in collaboration with electrophysiologists.
Monitoring and adjusting medications; performing follow-up assessments.
Independent or supervised CIED testing, reprogramming, and remote transmission management.
Facilitating outpatient therapeutic procedures (CIED implantations, catheter ablations).
Patient education on treatment options and lifestyle modifications.
Inpatient EP consultation support across the central region hospitals.
Interpretation of ECGs, telemetry, and arrhythmia identification with minimal supervision.
Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and electrophysiologists for complex cases.
Perioperative EP service support, including orders, lab review, and discharge instructions.
Post-operative complication management and support for EP procedures.
Participation in quality management and continuing education.
Main Location Hospital of Central Connecticut and Midstate Medical Center.
Other Locations Central region offices as needed.
Schedule Full Time.

Advanced Practitioner Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner master's program (preferred).
Licensed or eligible for licensing in Connecticut.
Certification or eligibility for certification as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC.
Cardiology experience (electrophysiology preferred).
Experience in cardiac device management (highly preferred).
