Candidates who are foreign nationals must have resided in the US for at least three (3) of the last five (5) years prior to assignment to the client s applicable government contract.
Position summary:
A typical day for the
Cloud Developer
role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud-native applications that align with enterprise architecture standards.
The Developer spends much of their time writing and updating code in languages like Python or Node.js, deploying serverless functions using AWS Lambda or Azure Functions. They use Terraform to define infrastructure as code, ensuring consistent and secure deployment of cloud resources.
Integration work is common, connecting services such as API Gateway, S3, or Cosmos DB to support application functionality.
The developer also builds and maintains CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps to automate testing and deployments. They may containerize applications using Docker and occasionally deploy them to Kubernetes clusters for more complex workloads.
Monitoring and troubleshooting are part of the daily routine, using tools like CloudWatch or Datadog to ensure system performance and reliability.
Collaboration is key, as they often work with cross-functional teams, contribute to technical documentation, and provide guidance on cloud best practices.
Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Possible overtime when needed to meet project timelines.
Required technologies:
Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud or Azure and lift-and-shift or re-platforming projects.
Experience with DevSecOps in the Cloud.
Experience with Full Stack Java/Java EE implementation and JavaScript frameworks, implementing CI/CD pipelines, tools (Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI) and monitoring.
Cloud Platform Expertise (AWS or Azure), Deep hands-on experience with services like AWS Services – IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, Aurora, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, API Gateway, DynamoDB, or Azure Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB, etc.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC), proficiency with tools like Terraform, and AWS CloudFormation for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure
Agile Experience with Jira and Confluence.
Nice to have:
Monitoring and observability tools: exposure to tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor for application performance monitoring and alerting
Experience in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Fargate, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes)
Hands-on proficiency with Python
Cloud certifications
Minimum required work experience:
6 years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.
Required education/equivalencies:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 10 years without a degree)
