Software Engineer, Platform – Columbia, USA
Pay Range $57.35/hr
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud‑native applications aligned with enterprise architecture standards
Develop and update code using Python, Java, Node.js, or related technologies
Deploy serverless solutions using AWS Lambda or Azure Functions
Define and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform (IaC)
Integrate cloud services such as API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Cosmos DB
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployments
Containerize applications using Docker and deploy to Kubernetes‑based environments when needed
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance using CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar tools
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and contribute to technical documentation
Provide guidance on cloud best practices and standards
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR 4 years of job‑related work experience OR 2 years of job‑related experience plus an Associate's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
6 years of experience in application development, systems testing, and other related IT experience
Required Technologies & Skills
Hands‑on cloud experience with AWS or Azure, including lift‑and‑shift or re‑platforming cloud migration projects
DevSecOps experience in cloud environments
Full‑stack Java / Java EE development
JavaScript frameworks and modern web development
CI/CD pipeline implementation using Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI
Cloud platform expertise (AWS or Azure) with IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, Aurora, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Azure Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
Agile experience using Jira and Confluence
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
Monitoring & observe‑ability tools: Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor
Containerization and orchestration: Docker, ECS, EKS, Fargate, Kubernetes
Hands‑on proficiency with Python
