Position Overview Join the team at CGI as a Senior Mainframe Developer in Salt Lake City, Utah. This full‑time consulting role involves solving challenging business and technical problems for local and enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Product Management and business partners to iteratively build robust and scalable solutions.

Research, analyze and recommend technology features, functionality, and development solutions.

Document code, perform code reviews, and participate in secure coding best practices.

Create technical documentation and user manuals to support mainframe applications.

Create documentation of operational tasks, procedures and automated processes.

Work on application support and maintenance for multiple applications.

Provide on‑call support.

Coordinate with offshore teams.

Serve as technical SME for supported applications across multiple projects and initiatives.

Provide cross‑training to team members and guide junior developers on mainframe expertise.

Debug and resolve technical issues.

Learn quickly on the job and deliver time‑critical enhancements in a fast‑paced team environment.

Attend meetings and provide updates.

Fix faults and restore operability or implement suitable workaround measures.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in software maintenance and support in mainframe languages (COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM).

Primary skill set: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM.

Secondary skill set: Assembler, EZtrieve.

Experience with large teams supporting multiple applications.

Experience coordinating with offshore teams.

Experience with EZtrieve and Endevor preferred; experience with mainframe debugging tools.

Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated initiative, good judgment, and sound technical decisions.

Ability to propose and assess quality of solutions for moderate to complex problems.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Compensation Estimated range: $100,800.00 – $176,300.00.
