Clearance:
Active DoD Secret Clearance, ability to obtain TS/SCI if required
Work Schedule:
Onsite, Full-time, Monday–Friday
Role Overview The Configuration Management Specialist III supports system lifecycle management by maintaining configuration baselines, documentation, and change control processes. This role ensures technical and logistics data accuracy in support of deployed and fielded systems.
Responsibilities include updating Configuration Management Plans, tracking system configurations, coordinating with engineering and logistics teams, and supporting audits and inventories as required.
General Skillset
Experience with Microsoft Office
Verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both collaboratively and individually
Critical Thinking Skills
Ability to give presentations and briefings as needed
Specific Skillset
Expertise in configuration management processes and best practices
Experience managing technical baselines, change requests, and configuration control boards (CCBs)
Ability to maintain configuration status accounting and audit readiness
Familiarity with configuration management tools and document control systems
Experience supporting system lifecycle activities, including development, integration, test, and sustainment
Knowledge of government and industry CM standards (e.g., EIA-649, MIL-STD-973 or equivalent)
Ability to coordinate with engineering, quality, and program teams to ensure configuration compliance
Requirements Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, or a related technical field (required)
Configuration Management certification or equivalent training (preferred)
Experience Requirements
5+ years of configuration management experience
Experience maintaining CM plans and baselines
Familiarity with DoD logistics or engineering environments
