We are looking for an Institutional Giving Officer to join our team at Project Success. Project Success is a youth development nonprofit organization that helps students connect to their purpose. The Institutional Giving Officer is responsible for identifying, soliciting, and stewarding corporate and foundational funders to meet the organizational giving goal. They work with the Senior Director of Advancement to develop fundraising plans, strategies, and key tactics that increase the organization’s philanthropic and in‑kind support from corporations, foundations, and other organizations.
This role reports to the Senior Director of Advancement and is part of the Advancement team at Project Success.
Our ideal candidate has a successful track record of developing annual fundraising plans, meeting annual goals, building relationships with a variety of constituents, and analyzing the effectiveness of fundraising efforts. They have excellent organizational, collaboration, and communication skills needed to work with various internal and external partners. They are trustworthy with a high sense of integrity and are able to nurture relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. They also approach fundraising with a clear understanding of and commitment to equity, inclusion, diversity, and accessibility.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Development Planning and Execution
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Advancement and the Advancement team to create and execute annual institutional development plans, develop portfolio goals, and track and report on progress
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Advancement to meet contributed revenue (cash and in‑kind) goals
Work closely with the Senior Director of Advancement and the Executive Director to drive the strategic goals of the organization and collaborate across teams to successfully achieve goals
Funder Relations and Solicitation
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Advancement, Executive Director, and Board volunteers to lead efforts in identifying, cultivating, securing, and stewarding major corporate, foundation, and institutional donors
Prepare proposals, budgets, and reports customized for grants, sponsorships, and funding partnerships
Manage portfolio of funders, sponsors, and prospects needed to meet the annual institutional giving goal
Maintain an active presence in corporate and foundation giving networks to build relationships with current and prospective funders
Collaborate with the Advancement team on funder relations strategies to steward and cultivate relationships with supporters, including acknowledgement letters, reports, e‑newsletters, website content, impact reports and fundraising campaigns and events
Information Management
Oversee the management of funder, sponsor, and institutional gift data in Raiser’s Edge carried out by the Advancement Operations Manager
Establish and maintain strong systems for gift tracking and acknowledgement, funder/sponsor stewardship and cultivation, and institutional communications, including requested reports and informal updates
Utilize tools available in Raiser’s Edge to accurately manage, analyze and report on fundraising progress, strengthen systems for data management, and extract information needed to plan and execute fundraising activities

Bachelor’s degree OR 4+ years of similar experience (or a combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities)
5+ years of experience in fundraising operations, securing institutional support, and/or contributing to institutional giving goals
Proven grant writing experience, including proposal development and reporting
Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM systems
Knowledge of and experience working within Minnesota’s philanthropic community
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to effectively communicate Project Success’s mission and impact
High level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential and sensitive donor information
Understands the importance of equity, inclusion, and cultural competency and has a strong commitment to continuous learning and incorporation of new information
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Tech‑savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Zoom
Ability to work both independently and as part of the team
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods, including movement up and down stairs and throughout office environment and at events
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and 50 pounds on occasion
POSITION DETAILS This position is a full‑time salaried exempt position. This role will require regular in‑office work at our headquarters in Minneapolis, with some flexibility for remote work. The work schedule will vary depending on the needs of the department and will include evening and weekend hours for events and meetings. Travel will be up to 20%, primarily local. Details on schedule to be discussed in the interview process.
The compensation package includes the following:
$75,000–$85,000 annual salary
Generous paid time off
Excellent Health Insurance with a low deductible (PS pays 100% of the monthly premium rate)
Excellent Dental and Vision Insurance (PS pays 100% of the monthly premium rate)
Short‑Term Disability and Life Insurance (PS pays 100% of the monthly premium rate)
