We are looking for an Individual Giving Officer to join our team at Project Success. Project Success is a youth development nonprofit organization that helps students connect to their purpose. We work with more than 17,000 6th-12th grade students and their families annually and have more than 225,000 alumni around the world. Learn more at projectsuccess.org.

The Individual Giving Officer is responsible for identifying, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors to meet the organizational giving goal. They work with the Senior Director of Advancement to develop fundraising plans, strategies, and key tactics that increase the organization’s philanthropic and in-kind support from individual donors.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Advancement and is part of the Advancement team at Project Success.

Our ideal candidate has a successful track record of developing annual fundraising plans, meeting annual goals, building relationships with a variety of constituents, and analyzing the effectiveness of fundraising efforts. They have excellent organizational, collaboration, and communication skills needed to work with various internal and external partners. They are trustworthy with a high sense of integrity and are able to nurture relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. They also approach fundraising with a clear understanding of and commitment to equity, inclusion, diversity, and accessibility.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Development Planning and Execution

Collaborate with the Senior Director of Advancement and the Advancement team to create and execute annual individual giving plans, portfolio goals, and track and report on progress

Collaborate with the Senior Director of Advancement to meet annual contributed revenue goals, including cash and in‑kind support

Work closely with the Senior Director of Advancement and the Executive Director to drive the strategic goals of the organization and ensure individual giving efforts align with those goals

Support the continued growth of the individual giving program, including managing and growing relationships

Donor Relations and Solicitation

Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects needed to meet the annual individual giving goal

Collaborate with the Senior Director of Advancement, Executive Director, and Board volunteers to lead efforts in identifying, cultivating, and securing individual donors

Build and maintain strong donor relationships through regular and personalized engagement, including in‑person visits, phone calls, email, mailings, and participation in donor events

Plan and execute donor engagement opportunities and events to deepen relationships and increase individual giving

Maintain an active presence in giving networks to build relationships with current and prospective donors

Serve as the primary point of contact for new individual donors, including responding to inquiries related to giving and engagement opportunities

Collaborate with the Advancement team to develop compelling donor‑facing materials and impact storytelling that communicates Project Success’s mission and impact

Information Management

Oversee the management of individual gift data in Raiser’s Edge carried out by the Advancement Operations Manager

Establish and maintain strong systems for gift tracking, acknowledgements, donor stewardship, cultivation, and communications, including requested reports and informal updates

Utilize tools available in Raiser’s Edge to accurately manage, analyze and report on fundraising progress, strengthen systems for data management, and extract information needed to plan and execute fundraising activities

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS Please note that while the qualifications below are preferred for this position, we do not expect any one person to necessarily have all the items listed. Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of similar experience (or a combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities)

5+ years of experience in fundraising operations, securing individual gifts, and/or contributing to organizational giving goals

Proven development writing experience, including proposal development and reporting

Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM systems

Knowledge of and experience working within Minnesota’s philanthropic community

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to effectively communicate Project Success’s mission and impact

High level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential and sensitive donor information

Understands the importance of equity, inclusion, and cultural competency and has a strong commitment to continuous learning and incorporation of new information

Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

Tech‑savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Zoom

Ability to work both independently and as part of the team

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance

Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods, including movement up and down stairs and throughout office environment and at events

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and 50 pounds on occasion

POSITION DETAILS This position is a full‑time salaried exempt position. This role will require regular in‑office work at our headquarters in Minneapolis, with some flexibility for remote work. The work schedule will vary depending on the needs of the department and will include evening and weekend hours for events and meetings. Travel will be up to 20%, primarily local. Details on schedule to be discussed in the interview process.

The compensation package includes the following:

$75,000-$85,000 annual salary
