Overview
Evaluate, validate, recommend & implement manufacturing technology and facility changes to improve manufacturing processes, quality and cost. Accountable for project implementation and deployment. Lead deployment of Operational Excellence Management System and improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze processes to identify improvement opportunities to reduce waste, improve throughput and productivity as well as alleviate bottlenecks.
Assist overall product designing, ensuring manufacturability and cost efficiency.
Assist with cost estimations as well as generation and modification of routes within processes.
Assist in designing reviews with DFM/A, PFMEA, Control Plan input and other projects.
Lead cross-functional strategic projects (e.g., plant re-arrangement, expansions), develop core competencies, equipment selection & justification, factory layout optimization, and new manufacturing technology studies for cost and productivity improvements.
Implement Lean methodologies such as 6s, Kaizen events, and standardized work to drive efficiency gains.
Monitor Lean initiatives and evaluate progress against cost savings, quality improvements and delivery targets.
Design and propose process metrics (Key Performance Indicators) that allow efficient process management.
Participate in measuring and monitoring methods in alignment with ISO Standards as well as validate improvement measures are implemented to ensure that expected results are realized within the ISO framework.
Address and manage outstanding quality issues and provide support through Corrective and Preventative Action projects.
Hire, train, coach, counsel and evaluate performance of direct reports.
Experience
Engineering degree in a related field preferred.
Manufacturing Engineer and /or Lean Manufacturing Engineer/Specialist experience preferred.
Supervision and/or Project Management experience preferred.
Manufacturing processes and improvement methods (e.g., PDCA, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, TPM, Kanban, Lean…).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency with manufacturing processes and improvement methods (e.g., PDCA, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, etc.).
