Must Have Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or a technical field with 2 years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality

OR Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or technical field with 0 years of work experience in Engineering and/or Quality

Nice to Have Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field strongly preferred

Experience in medical device design and application of test standards

Experience in applying statistical methods to design reliability and process capability

Certified Quality Engineer, Reliability Engineer, or equivalent desired

Strong oral and written communication skills

Effective team player with cross‑functional capabilities

Excellent presentation skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly

Working knowledge of appropriate industry standards

Ability to work in a team environment and exert influence without alienating others

Knowledge/basic understanding of specification development, industry standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), etc.

Responsibilities

Develops, coordinates, and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs

Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability

Completes risk analysis studies of new design and processes

Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes

Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards

Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer, and governmental agency reliability objectives

May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches, or processes posing excessive failure risks

Proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability

May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data

Main Responsibilities

Reviewing proposed manufacturing, supplier, and design changes to commercially released product

Complaint trending to determine if there are any signals that need to be escalated

Risk management document ownership

We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible, with interviews starting the week of 1/5 or 1/12. The role requires a minimum of four days onsite in our Mounds View, MN office.
