We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator / Computer Engineer in the GCS (Ground Control Station) Computers and Networks Engineering group.
Responsibilities
Perform computer system level design of the Ground Control Stations (GCS) for GA-ASI UAV systems.
Develop new designs or modifications of existing systems as required to meet project goals.
Work with other GCS computers and networks team members to define system design requirements.
Design, troubleshoot, and analyze Linux computer systems using standard engineering tools and principles.
Produce documentation, such as computer system specifications, system set up procedures and interface control documents.
Provide system administration, support/integration of existing and new weapon system applications that are based upon Linux and Windows operating systems and associated hardware.
Understand, communicate, and apply new concepts quickly; work independently or in a team and lead projects.
Communicate and produce documentation with MS Office applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint and Project.
Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline and progressive engineering experience: nine or more years with a bachelor’s, seven or more with a master’s, or four or more with a PhD; equivalent engineering experience may substitute education.
Must possess strong Linux skills, familiarity with installation, configuration, and management of Linux systems.
Familiarity with supporting virtual environments (VMware, KVM, Hyper‑V, Docker containers) is a plus.
Experience with cybersecurity hardening of Windows and Linux operating systems, automation, scripting, and security assessment tools such as Nessus and SCAP is a plus.
Demonstrates ability to apply basic engineering knowledge using diagnostics tools, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
General understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating those concepts.
Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
Experience with CISSP and/or ISSO is a plus.
