Be part of the flagship location of one of California’s most respected luxury eyewear brands. San Francisco Optics by Alexander Daas in the San Francisco Marina District has been redefining boutique eyewear since 1979, where craft, design, and personalized service intersect.
Compensation Base pay: $26.00/hr - $30.00/hr
Additional compensation: Annual bonus.
Role & Responsibilities
Welcome and engage clients, build relationships, and help them select frames and lenses that match their life, style, and vision needs.
Consult on prescription lenses and advanced lens options; translate eye‑care details into style‑centric solutions.
Manage eyewear orders: verify prescriptions, input digital orders, follow through with lab/custom lens finishing, adjust and fit frames, and deliver exceptional follow‑up.
Maintain boutique presentation: manage inventory, keep eyewear displays styled, maintain visual & tech standards (POS, Chrome/Google Suite).
Serve as the optical style authority: lead by example in styling, dispensing, and delivering precisely fitted, thoughtfully designed eyewear. Confidently articulate the enduring value of handcrafted eyewear compared to mass‑produced alternatives.
Mentor and develop team members, support visual and operational standards, and play an active role in elevating the flagship store experience.
Drive sales performance through leadership and strategy while maintaining an impeccable client experience: champion advanced lens solutions and premium frames by clearly articulating their differentiated value.
Build and sustain a strong clienteling culture that drives repeat business, referrals, and long‑term revenue growth.
Lead clients through bespoke styling sessions; comfort working with discerning, high‑expectation clientele.
Manage complex lens orders, progressives, and high‑index materials.
Support visual merchandising and clienteling initiatives tied to SF fashion and creative events.
Train and mentor junior optical staff on advanced lens technologies and boutique sales techniques.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum 3 years optical dispensing or optician experience; luxury retail or boutique optical strongly preferred.
Confident working independently and managing premium‑priced eyewear sales.
Polished, design‑savvy communicator with a professional yet warm presence.
ABO certified or willing to pursue certification preferred.
Experience in lab operations is a plus.
Tech‑literate (EyeCloud Pro, Google Workspace, Chrome).
