Position Summary The Center for Human Genetics & Genomics invites applications for the position of Human Genetics & Bioinformatics Analyst. This role will perform human genetic and genomic analysis, including designing family‑based and population‑based genetic studies; performing genome‑wide association studies (GWAS); carrying out whole exome and whole genome sequence analysis and interpretation; and providing instruction on relevant human genetics databases. The successful candidate will hold a master’s degree and have experience in bioinformatics, population genetics, and human disease analysis, with demonstrated computational collaboration and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

Initiate, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate research assignments critical to the project's mission.

Explore subject areas, define scopes, and select problems for investigation through related studies or series of projects of lesser scope.

Ensure timely and accurate completion of research projects.

Assist with research/lab quality control and compliance.

Develop protocols for collection and quality of research data.

Create research techniques and methodologies.

Coordinate activity and experimental design between labs, scientific staff, and collaborators; identify and resolve technical problems.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

B.S. in mathematics, biological sciences, computer science, or related disciplines.

Experience with Unix/Linux systems, including HPC environments.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Perl.

Statistical package experience, preferably R or Matlab.

Excellent written and oral English communication skills.

Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary Range $67,771.14 – $90,000.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other compensation.
