Job Title: PLC Engineer Location: Milwaukee, WI/Toledo, OH/St Joseph, MO or Portland, OR
- This requires travel to different plants (Remote with need for travel) Duration: 6 months
Desired Experience Range Minimum 5-6 years plus hands on experience
Must Have
5-6 years of hands‑on experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
Proficiency in HMI development (FactoryTalk View, WinCC, etc.). Experience with Ignition SCADA platform.
Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases.
Familiarity with Kepware and OPC protocols.
Willingness to travel to customer sites across the U.S.
Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good‑to‑Have
Manufacturing domain experience
Knowledge of scripting languages used in Ignition (Python, JavaScript).
Strong issue solving and analysis skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement PLC programs using Allen Bradley (RSLogix 500, RSLogix/Studio 5000, CCW) and Siemens (TIA Portal/S7/SIMATIC 505) platforms.
Understand technical and operational constraints to create project development and commissioning plans.
Configure and manage Kepware for OPC communication between devices and systems.
Write and optimize SQL queries for data logging, reporting, and system integration.
Clear understanding of back‑end computing infrastructure used in manufacturing (compute hardware, virtualization, OS’s, networking, databases, etc.) is a plus.
Interact with client for requirement analysis, enhancement and support required.
Perform on‑site commissioning, troubleshooting, and support at customer locations across the U.S.
Maintain documentation for system architecture, code, and configurations.
