We are seeking a Principal Engineer, Compressor Module Leader to execute the design, analysis, evaluation, and assembly of the compressor module in an aviation jet engine. The role requires sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements, including evaluation of system effects (aero, dynamic modes, load cases, etc.) on components and assemblies. What You’ll Do
Apply industry‑leading analytical tools to compressor design, supporting mechanical and aerodynamic analysis to assure the module meets requirements. Lead engine system or component test programs from a hardware design perspective, setting test objectives, instrumentation, data requirements, and test planning for component validation. Serve as the component design subject‑matter expert within a diverse system design team, ensuring products and subsystems meet overall requirements and advocating for component capability while understanding trade‑offs. Lead design reviews and coordinate with disciplines in performance, controls, stress, life, additive manufacturing, materials, and system analysis. Communicate timely on significant issues or developments. Participate in research and development of technologies and methodologies related to additive design, advising on ways to improve product design through additive manufacturing. Initially serve as an individual contributor in a dynamic, self‑directed environment, with future growth potential to scale design capability and leadership responsibilities. Ensure proper documentation of technical data following engineering best practices. Work with suppliers to procure hardware and resolve producibility and quality issues. You Have
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college. At least 12 years of experience in gas turbine component design. Strong understanding of design software tools (CAD, ANSYS, CFD, etc.). Experience with compressors for aviation product applications from a mechanical and aerodynamic design perspective. Experience with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles. Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required. Benefits
Competitive salary range: $160,000–$190,000 base.
