Responsibilities
Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the process as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team.
Work in collaboration with the attending supervising/collaborating physician(s) in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols, and clinical pathways, and may provide autonomous team‑based care.
Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, review or order diagnostic/therapeutic tests and radiologic results, formulate and manage patient treatment plans.
Educate patients and families on care and available resources, including admitting instructions, treatment plans, potential side effects, and discharge plans.
Provide psychosocial support to patients, their family members, and significant others in a caring, ethical, and professional manner.
Qualifications Education
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
Experience
Emergency Department experience preferred.
Consider motivated new graduates with appropriate exposure and preparation.
Active, unrestricted CT medical license or in process of obtaining.
ACLS/BLS (as required) certification.
DEA license.
