Our client, a well-established and regionally recognized civil engineering firm with a renowned landscape architecture studio, is seeking a
Landscape Architect
who is passionate about project management to join their dynamic studio in
Fairfax County, Virginia . This is an exciting opportunity to lead impactful projects, mentor emerging talent, and help create outdoor spaces that are beautiful, functional, and sustainable.

The Role The Landscape Architect will lead and coordinate a variety of suburban and urban design projects from conception through completion. This position involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, strong client engagement skills, and the delivery of high-quality, innovative design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Act as Project Manager and manage landscape architecture design efforts, coordinating with other project managers through all phases of projects.
Serve as the final stamp of approval on design and technical documents.
Lead the development of design documents from conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
Manage all phases of diverse landscape architecture projects, ensuring design excellence, complex schedules, and budgets are maintained.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on the planning and design of parks, schools, residential developments, commercial centers, and civic projects.
Oversee detailed design deliverables, including hardscape plans, planting design, and site layouts responsive to each site’s unique character.
Act as the main liaison with clients, consultants, and public agencies, overseeing projects through approvals and permitting.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to a team culture that fosters collaboration, learning, and professional growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.
7+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally including projects in Arlington, Fairfax, and Loudoun Counties.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and related design tools.
Experience with 3D modeling software such as SketchUp, Revit, or similar tools.
Strong commitment to teamwork and a collaborative design process.
