3+ Year Insurance Defense Attorney - Construction & Labor Law Focus | New York, NY | Hybrid Base Pay Range $125,000.00/yr - $185,000.00/yr

A distinguished New York law firm seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney with construction defense expertise. Handle sophisticated Labor Law 240/241 matters, premises liability, and complex defense litigation in a collaborative environment offering competitive compensation, performance bonuses, and flexible hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead defense litigation strategy for complex construction accident cases involving New York Labor Law Sections 200, 240(1), and 241(6), from inception through trial and appeal.

Manage all phases of litigation including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation for diverse insurance defense matters.

Draft sophisticated legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motion papers, legal memoranda, and client reports with precision and strategic insight.

Conduct and defend depositions of fact witnesses, expert witnesses, contractors, property owners, and injured parties in high‑exposure cases.

Argue motions in New York State courts, including summary judgment motions, Frye hearings, and dispositive pre‑trial motions.

Communicate regularly with clients including insurance carriers, adjusters, corporate risk managers, and insureds, providing strategic counsel and case updates.

Participate in mediations and settlement conferences, negotiating favorable resolutions while protecting client interests.

Collaborate with experts including engineers, safety consultants, medical professionals, and economists to build strong defense cases.

Handle premises liability matters including slip‑and‑fall, negligent security, wrongful death, and general negligence claims.

Defend professional liability claims, automobile accidents, and sexual misconduct allegations as needed.
