Position Summary: The payroll and HRIS manager is responsible for overseeing payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, and managing the human resources information system. This role ensures accurate and timely payments, maintains HR data integrity, and collaborates with other departments to support overall business operations. As the Payroll & HRIS Manager you will exemplify the Company’s Core Values through your daily interactions with guest, team members, and the community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Payroll Management

Oversee and manage the end-to-end processing of payroll cycles, including bonuses and expense reimbursements.

Review and approve payroll runs, adjustments, and off-cycle payments.

Calculate and withhold federal, state, and local taxes and ensure accurate and timely filing and remittance.

Administer and process all payroll deductions, including benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions.

Manage year-end tasks such as W-2 preparation, confirming tax rates and wage bases, and updating the HRIS for the new year.

Address employee questions and resolve issues related to pay and deductions.

HRIS Management

Lead the strategic and operational management of the HRIS platform to ensure alignment with business goals.

Maintain the integrity and accuracy of employee data within the system.

Implement, maintain, and upgrade HRIS functionality, including security and user access.

Provide first-line technical support to employees and HR staff for system-related inquiries.

Develop and run reports to analyze payroll and HR metrics for management.

Compliance and Auditing

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll and wage‑and‑hour laws.

Conduct regular internal audits to verify payroll accuracy and compliance.

Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

Identify compliance risks and implement corrective actions as needed.

Administration and Leadership

Oversee the processing of employment verification requests while maintaining confidentiality.

Manage and coordinate timely responses to unemployment claims in collaboration with third‑party administrators or state agencies.

Administer ad‑hoc HR‑related administrative tasks and projects to support operational continuity and compliance.

Develop and enforce payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, IT, and Operations teams.

Partner with and support Operations Managers.

Manage vendor relationships with payroll providers to ensure timely issue resolution and data completeness.

Leverage data and analytics to improve payroll efficiency and scalability.

Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience in payroll management, with three or more years preferred.

In‑depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

Strong proficiency with payroll and HRIS software such as Workday or ADP; iSolved experience preferred.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
