Senior Civil Trial Attorney
Urgently hiring Trial Defense Attorney.
Senior Civil Trial Attorney needed to handle a semi‑autonomous caseload with potential high exposure.
Base Pay Range:
$190,000 – $250,000 per year
Location:
Irvine, CA
Responsibilities
Managing all aspects of civil litigation from case inception to verdict, including initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre‑trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post‑trial motions.
Gathering and organizing documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
Providing guidance and leading the litigation team.
Drafting correspondence and regularly communicating with clients, experts, and defense counsel.
Qualifications
Must reside in California and be willing to travel for trial and appearances.
Minimum of ten (10) years experience in litigation handling cases from inception through trial; at least seven (7) years in civil litigation.
Minimum of 3 civil matters to verdict, with at least 5 near‑verdict preferred.
First‑chair experience in 3+ civil jury trials required.
Experience with at least 5 bench trials preferred.
Mediation and arbitration experience a plus; jury selection (voir dire); expert selection and retention.
Knowledge of Superior Court systems and, preferably, federal court systems and the ability to try matters in federal court.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience managing up to 20 cases simultaneously.
Demonstrated team‑management experience, mentoring and developing junior staff.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active Bar membership in California.
Law degree from an ABA‑accredited law school.
