Application Systems Specialist
to join our team and lead the implementation, support and optimization of Commercial Off‑The‑Shelf (COTS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) for healthcare applications. This role is ideal for a seasoned IT professional with deep experience supporting clinical applications and healthcare workflows, EHR/EMR systems, and HIPAA‑compliant environments.
Who are we? The SRPMIC is a sovereign tribe located in the metropolitan Phoenix area. Bounded by the cities of Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa and Fountain Hills, the Community serves over tribal members, and all persons conducting business over approximately 96 square mile area of residential, agricultural and commercial lands, as a full‑service government entity. The Community also operates tribal enterprises in diverse industries.
What the job looks like: Under the general supervision of the Application Systems Manager, you’ll lead the selection, configuration, and implementation of healthcare applications and integrations; serve as the subject‑matter expert for clinical systems such as EHR, EMR, pharmacy, lab, radiology, and revenue cycle; conduct business process analysis and workflow redesign to improve clinical outcomes; ensure system compliance with HIPAA, cybersecurity standards, and organizational policies; troubleshoot and resolve technical and user‑related issues across clinical software and devices; manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements; oversee system testing, data conversion, and post‑go‑live support; and collaborate with cross‑functional teams and lead operational projects.
The ideal candidate would have proven hands‑on experience with HIPAA compliance, clinical workflows and healthcare data integrity; REDCap experience highly desirable; proficiency with Windows Server, SQL Server, SharePoint and PowerShell; experience in project management, managing application teams and mentoring staff.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related IT discipline
Seven (7) years’ experience in healthcare IT, including COTS/SaaS selection, implementation and support, business process analysis, data conversion, and training.
Five (5) years’ experience in project management, vendor management, and report writing.
