Qualifications
18 months of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting
High School Diploma or completion of an accredited Operating Room Technologist course or equivalent training
BLS Certified and national certification required
Demonstrated dexterity with surgical instruments and knowledge of surgical procedures
Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the Surgical Technologist is to assist the clinical staff by performing support functions to facilitate the delivery of surgical/procedural services and provide patient care for comfort, hygiene, and simple treatments.
Prepare operating rooms in a timely manner for surgical procedures.
Perform additional assignments as needed under the direct supervision of the registered nurse circulator and delegate tasks appropriately.
Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, unit staff, business office, and medical records to ensure continuity of patient care.
