Physical Requirements:
Regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motions; lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50 pounds; standing or walking with objects up to 25 pounds.
Shift:
Must be able to work three 12‑hour shifts per week; also required some weekend and holiday work.

Job Summary The emergency medical dispatcher will serve within UK emergency services’ dispatch. The dispatcher will be responsible for managing and directing emergency and non‑emergency calls, dispatching UK ambulances, scheduling ambulance transports, plus assisting in air traffic control for helicopters landing at the UK medical center. They will also intake calls for all incoming EMS units and relay pertinent information to the appropriate hospital party.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
High school education or equivalent.
Minimum one year of experience in EMS or related field.
EMT certification and a dispatching certification from APCO International within one year of hire.
Basic medical terminology and computer skills.
Preferred: Two years of related experience, experience in air traffic control operations, experience within a large healthcare organization, and/or public safety/911 dispatch experience.
