Dental Assistant I (registered) /or Dental Assistant II (certified)
to join their team of professionals in
Pediatric Dentistry . Knowledge of pediatric dentistry procedures and nomenclature is preferred.

Position Summary Perform routine tasks assisting the professional dental staff and students in the examination and prophylactic, therapeutic and surgical treatment of patients. Works under direct supervision.
Position Key Accountabilities
Assists in the teaching of dental students, dental assisting students, and dental hygiene students in the principles of four‑handed dentistry and dental assistant utilization (DAU).
Provides chair side assistance to students, residents and faculty.
Maintains sterile environment and prepares equipment, instruments, and supplies within working area.
Maintains infection control standards.
Maintains records of patients seen, procedures performed, materials used, and appointments.
Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills
Basic office or computer skills.
Dental Assistant by Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) required.
Minimum Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a recognized dental assistant educational program preferred.
Minimum Experience None.
Physical Requirements Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive
Position is security‑sensitive pursuant to Texas Education Code §§ 51.215 and Texas Government Code §§ 411.094.
Requires research or work on critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code § 117.001(2). Ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification.
Personnel will be routinely reviewed to determine whether criminal history or continuous connections to the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent employment. A foreign adversary is a nation listed in 15 C.F.R.
