POSITION SUMMARY The Infrastructure Specialist manages company’s manufacturing infrastructure across North America, requiring strong technical and communication skills. This role supports server operating systems, Intel hardware, Windows and Linux operating systems, SAN storage, hypervisor and virtualization solutions across all platforms in the company environment. The specialist ensures the delivery, availability, and performance of all systems supporting company factory manufacturing environments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with internal and external partners to evaluate and design highly available solutions for manufacturing environments.
Maintain current systems; evaluate, recommend, test, and install new technologies.
Contribute to strategic technical plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans.
Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service driven systems.
Resolve problems and determine system improvements.
Manage projects for major updates and changes, ensuring compliance with company standards and specifications.
Provide technical expertise in:
Windows Servers – Clusters and OS
Hypervisor and virtualization (VMWare)
SAN Storage systems
ThinClients & ThinManager Platform
GE iFIX, GE Historian, Wonderware, Rockwell suite, Ignition
Redhat OpenShift and Enterprise Linux platforms
Backups
Azure / AWS platform supportp>
Participate in on-call rotation to support critical factory issues.
Adhere to company compliance processes for implementing/upgrading solutions.
Lead the change management lifecycle, ensuring regular testing before production release.
Collect, analyze, and summarize data and trends in new technologies for storage architecture, capacity, high availability, and response time.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Promote process improvement and contribute to team efforts by completing projects and solving problems related to ongoing initiatives.
Collaborate with factory personnel and other internal/external business partners.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Education:
Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years’ experience, or
Associate’s degree plus 5 years’ experience, or
High school diploma/equivalent plus 7 years’ experience in Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
Experience:
Hardware Systems Architecture
Hypervisor Technologies
SAN Storage Technologies
Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms
Skills:
Experience working on large, cross-functional projects
Designing, developing, and maintaining manufacturing automation systems and architecture
Broad understanding of infrastructure hardware, software, and network topologies
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
