Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for loading and unloading incoming and outgoing materials and products. Prepare finished products for shipment, operating trucks, forklifts, and cranes. Perform and report cycle counts. Comply with all safety rules and guidelines.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products
Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas
Identify and label materials, and record their locations in the warehouse/on the shelves to maintain inventory
Prepare finished products for shipment by identifying their location, then pulling, packing, and loading them
Operate trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight
Perform and report cycle counts
Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines
Working Environment and Physical Demands
Work performed in a shop environment.
May work at different workstations as production needs require.
Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
Standing entire shift.
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Bending and stooping throughout shift.
Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as hoist, positioners, pallet jacks, forklift truck, overhead crane
Qualifications Minimum
High school diploma or equivalent
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends
3-5 years of experience working in a warehouse setting or in logistics; experience in operating material handling equipment preferred
Shipping and receiving experience
Experience with ERP system
Certification to ride forklift truck preferred
Must be able to work well in a team
Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend and to lift heavy materials
Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software
Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong attention to detail
Good problem solving or troubleshooting skills
Training Requirements

Forklift & Overhead Crane Training
Lock out tag out training
Personal Protective Equipment
Safety glasses
Steel toe shoes/composite toe
May require other PPE, such as gloves, goggles, shields, aprons, etc, while performing specific tasks
