Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Methuen, MA
Waystone HHS is seeking a dedicated direct care worker to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of those we serve. As a Residential Skills Instructor or Awake Overnight staff, you will provide essential support and companionship to individuals who need help with daily activities in a residential home.
Location Methuen, MA (Group home setting)
Employment Type & Hours Part‑time, less than 25 hours per week. Current opening: Sunday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.
Compensation Hourly rate of $21.00. Union member to SEIU Local 509. Position is non‑benefit eligible.

Job Responsibilities
Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, transferring, and meal preparation.
Assist with heavy lifting and drive wheelchair‑accessible company vans to transport individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.
Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) to support individuals in achieving personal goals and promoting independence.
Complete daily logs and notes, track behavioral data.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with medication administration and maintain accurate documentation, as required.
Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirect behaviors.
Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential program.
Uphold individuals’ rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
Maintain staff‑to‑resident ratio, manage money, provide home management, and redirect behaviors.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans, document services, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
Experience in providing training, case management, and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community.
MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification (training provided by Waystone within 6 months of employment).
CPR/First Aid certification (training provided by Waystone within 3 months of employment).
Valid driver’s license in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.
