Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Dracut, MA – 149 Are you a compassionate, dependable person who enjoys helping others? If so, Waystone is currently seeking a dedicated direct care worker to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of those we serve. As a Residential Skills Instructor or Awake Overnight staff, you provide essential support and companionship to individuals who need help with daily activities in a residential home.

Location:

Dracut, MA (Group home setting)

Current Openings Part‑time schedules:

25+ hours per week Shifts:

Monday, Tuesday & Saturday 3:00 pm‑9:00 pm; Sunday 9:00 am‑11:00 pm

Compensation Hourly rate:

$21.00 Union:

SEIU Local 509 (full‑time/part‑time positions)

Group Home Details You will assist 5 individuals aged 22 and up with their activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as feeding, cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene assistance, documentation, and medication administration. You’ll use a wheelchair van to transport individuals to appointments and community activities. During overnight hours, you’ll conduct routine wellness checks and provide personal care support, including toileting assistance and brief changes as needed.

Job Responsibilities

Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene assistance (toileting and brief changing), bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, transferring, and meal preparation.

Be able and willing to assist with heavy lifting and drive wheelchair‑accessible company vans, transporting individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.

Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) to help individuals achieve personal goals and promote independence.

Complete daily logs and notes, track behavioral data.

Additional Responsibilities

Assist with medication administration and maintain accurate documentation, as required.

Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirect behavior.

Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive residential program.

Uphold the individual’s rights, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.

Maintain the program’s staff‑to‑resident ratio, money management, home management, and behavior redirection.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans, document services, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.

Experience providing training, case management, and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community.

MAP (Medication Administration Program) Certification; training offered by Waystone within 6 months of employment.

CPR/First Aid; training offered by Waystone within 3 months of employment.

Valid driver’s license in good standing with a minimum of one year of driving experience.
