Position Overview The Manufacturing Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring seamless manufacturing operations by collaborating with the Production Scheduler to deliver timely work orders that align with the production schedule. This position is responsible for generating and managing work orders, overseeing the close-out process, and reconciling materials and labor hours for accurate job costing metrics. The Manufacturing Coordinator will work closely with cross‑functional teams to maintain efficient material flow, optimize inventory, and support process improvements, contributing to operational excellence and cost efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
Work Order Management:
Generate and manage project‑level work orders to support manufacturing operations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with production goals.
Collaborate with the Production Scheduler to ensure work orders are created and materials are picked in accordance with the manufacturing schedule.
Job Close‑Out Process:
Execute the job close‑out process by verifying that materials are accurately allocated to work orders and all close‑out requirements are completed within one business day of final project shipment.
Reconcile materials and labor hours to provide precise data for job costing and performance metrics.
Inventory and Material Flow:
Monitor inventory levels to optimize stock, balancing inventory reduction with production requirements to minimize waste and ensure availability.
Coordinate with manufacturing team leads to maintain a steady flow of raw materials, reinforcing adherence to the production schedule.
ERP System Utilization:
Leverage Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Salesforce or equivalent) to input and manage production schedules, ensuring accurate data for capacity planning, demand forecasting, and operational reporting.
Conduct cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate cycle time data within scheduling systems to support operational efficiency.
Production Support and Flexibility:
Support short lead‑time orders and product changes by coordinating updates across the manufacturing process, ensuring minimal disruption to schedules.
Participate in cross‑functional meetings to address challenges such as short shipments, customer demand increases, or supply chain disruptions, proposing actionable solutions.
Process Improvement and Documentation:
Collaborate with manufacturing team leads to develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various roles and groups, maintaining an organized SOP library.
Generate detailed reports on production trends, operational efficiencies, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) to drive continuous process improvements.
Assist in assembling COPQ metrics and implementing global changes to reduce rework costs and enhance production quality.
Cross‑Functional Support:
Provide backup support for related departmental functions, including purchasing, project management, or engineering, as needed to ensure operational continuity.
Foster collaboration across departments to align manufacturing processes with organizational objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing, or a related role.
Proficiency in ERP/CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Parts +, or similar) for scheduling and data management.
Strong analytical skills with experience in capacity planning, time studies, or production trend analysis.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a focus on accuracy and detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams, including production, engineering, and procurement.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, inventory management, or process optimization is a plus.
Familiarity with automation tools, such as QR code systems for inventory tracking, is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.

Maintained and updated plant capacity and cycle time databases.
