Talent Corps is currently seeking an operator of a mini excavator for a local client in the Austin area.
Seeking an operator to use compact excavators for digging, trenching, grading, and moving dirt on tight job sites for a construction site.
Key Responsibilities :
Operation : Safely operate the mini excavator to dig trenches, backfill, grade soil, move materials, and perform site prep.
Maintenance : Conduct daily pre‑operation inspections, clean the machine, lubricate parts, refuel, and report any deficiencies.
Site Coordination : Communicate with supervisors, ground crews, and traffic control to understand plans and adapt to changing conditions.
Safety : Adhere strictly to safety policies, use PPE, assess risks, and follow procedures, especially around utilities or other workers.
Documentation : May involve minor record‑keeping of work completed or equipment status.
Typical Tasks Include :
Trenching for pipes or cables (sewer, utility).
Demolition of small structures.
Loading materials onto trucks.
Working in confined spaces or near delicate areas.
Skills & Qualifications :
Experience operating heavy equipment.
Knowledge of safety regulations.
Ability to read site plans or blueprints.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Precision, good hand‑eye coordination, and steady hands.
High School Diploma often preferred, plus potential for certification.
