Maintenance Technician – Residential Properties (Sheetrock & Painting Focus)
Professional Home Buyers has served Wichita for over 20 years, and we’re continuing to grow. We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician with strong sheetrock and painting experience to help maintain rental homes, complete make-ready projects, and assist with flip home renovations. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and contributing to high‑quality home improvements.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, and finish
sheetrock/drywall , including taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing
Paint interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring a professional finish
Perform general maintenance and repairs in rental properties and homes under renovation
Complete make-ready tasks and prepare units for new tenants
Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry issues
Install appliances, light fixtures, faucets, locks, and other home components
Assist with framing, baseboards, cabinets, siding, and other finish work
Inspect homes, identify issues, and report findings to the property manager
Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
Communicate professionally with tenants, coworkers, and property managers
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
Qualifications
2+ years of strong sheetrock/drywall repair and painting skills
General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and small equipment
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or with a team
Strong communication and customer service skills
Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance
Must own basic tools
Able to lift heavy items, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces when needed
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Compensation $17 – $22 hour DOE & skills
