Front Desk Associate / Patient Representative at Mount Sinai Medical Center

Position Responsibilities
Answers telephone promptly; preferably by the third ring. Ensures calls are identified and properly categorized to forward to the appropriate area in a timely and efficient manner.
Demonstrates proper telephone etiquette when receiving, transferring, and placing calls on hold. Hold times are kept to a minimum.
Efficiently schedules appointments, records them as documented, and follows practice policy.
Accurately enters patient demographics information and insurance data into the computer as documented.
Verifies insurance information, collects referrals and authorizations, and/or other forms as documented.
Checks to ensure patients fill out applicable forms completely and correctly.
Informs Office Secretary or Office Coordinator when supply level is approaching reorder point.
Copies patient records if requested by insurance company or other physician's office.
Responsible for completing daily receipts and journals and depositing to cashiers.
Responsible for assembling batches for daily superbills for physicians and accurately preparing them for submission to billing company.
Performs administrative and clerical duties, such as filing paperwork, when necessary.
Qualifications
1-3 years experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
High School Diploma required.
Bilingual – English/Spanish preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook).
Additional bilingual preference.
