We have an Oil & Gas client looking to hire a Safety Technician to support offshore pipeline installation and marine construction activities by providing daily field safety coverage, coaching crews, and helping ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with site requirements.

Maintain a strong field presence on vessels, barges, and offshore work areas to observe work, coach safe behaviors, and reinforce stop-work authority.

Participate in pre-job planning and facilitate daily toolbox talks and JSA/JHA reviews.

Support Permit to Work activities as assigned (verifying controls, permits posted, energy isolation/LOTO coordination, and SIMOPS awareness).

Monitor high-risk work including lifting and rigging, working at height, hot work, confined space, dropped objects prevention, line of fire exposures, and marine operations.

Complete safety observations and inspections, document findings, and track corrective actions to closeout.

Assist with incident and near-miss reporting, basic investigations, and lessons learned communications.

Verify basic PPE compliance, housekeeping, barricading, signage, and emergency equipment readiness.

Support emergency response drills and muster procedures offshore.

Maintain daily safety logs and provide simple HSE metrics/reporting to the site HSE lead.

Required qualifications

2+ years of field safety experience in offshore, marine construction, or pipeline/construction environments.

Familiarity with JSA/JHA process, toolbox talks, and field-level hazard recognition.

Comfortable working offshore rotations and in vessel/barging environments.

Strong communication skills with the ability to coach craft and subcontractors.

Preferred

Offshore pipeline installation exposure (pipelay support, tie-ins, crossings, trenching/burial, hydrotest, pre-commissioning).

Training such as H2S, First Aid/CPR, basic rigging and lifting awareness, fall protection, confined space, and incident investigation (or equivalents required by the project).
