Responsibilities

Adhere to all standards of behavior, exhibit excellent customer service skills, and function in a cohesive team environment.

Transport waste (regular, bio‑hazardous, recycling) to designated locations and process it according to trained procedures.

Perform routine manual tasks in the hospital or on the immediate grounds related to cleaning.

In the Grounds position, pick up litter and debris on the hospital grounds or designated areas, leaving the area clean and litter‑free.

Empty and clean trash containers to keep them free from spills and marks.

Operate outdoor cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, leaf blowers, Billy Goat, and cart washing machine.

Wash low‑level outside windows and clean all door frames.

Proactively maintain identified patient and non‑patient areas to comply with all mandated and regulatory agency requirements.

Maintain the work area in a safe manner using appropriate safety systems.

Clean and disinfect patient rooms, ancillary areas, bathrooms, public areas, corridors, medication storage rooms, and any other areas as directed by licensed clinical staff.

Maintain equipment in a clean and functional condition; keep work areas orderly, clean and safe.

Report unsafe situations and submit engineering service requests for repair.

Complete tasks independently as assigned.

Maintain reasonable, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.

Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications Education / Training

Ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.

Ability to write simple correspondence and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.

Good working knowledge and ability to access and use all department‑related computer systems, including Tele‑Tracking and Service Response programs where applicable.
