Position: SAP EAM Functional – Contract to Hire (Local Priority)
Location: Downtown Houston, TX (open to relocation, prioritizing local TX residents)
Onsite Mon‑Thurs, remote Fridays
12+ month ongoing contract
Start Date: 01/12/2026
Responsibilities
Hands‑on functional configuration and design experience with SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM, PM/SM and PS)
Full life cycle implementation of SAP EAM, from business requirements gathering through workshops, gap analysis, blueprinting, design, configuration, testing, cutover, data migration, go‑live, training and post‑go‑live support
Implement SAP EAM/Plant Maintenance processes: assess current state, identify requirements and define future state or business solution
Transform detailed requirements into complete system design documents and implement in SAP
Capture business capability, functional requirements and expected service levels; create EAM solutions mapping to actionable business‑IT roadmap
Support BU leadership in identifying emerging technology opportunities; advise on impact of new technologies on existing systems
Maintain business and functional requirements throughout development/configuration
Act as liaison between client, vendors, project management and technical team on questions, issues, revisions to solution architecture
Manage engagement risk and economics, including planning, budgeting, defining deliverable content, and securing buy‑in from business owners
Guide fit/gap analysis and design decisions; validate deviations from out‑of‑the‑box functionality for business justification and value
Provide consulting services on new implementations and existing support projects
Provide ad‑hoc training and user support as required
Work self‑directed and independently; mentor junior members
Qualifications
10+ years of experience designing, customizing, testing, implementing, and managing enterprise asset management solutions/systems
Experience in a minimum of 2 full‑cycle greenfield/brownfield SAP implementations
Experience with converting new acquisitions/mergers into current platforms
Knowledge of current technology implementation patterns
Strong, persuasive communication and presentation skills
Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing to technical and non‑technical audiences
S/4 EAM experience

Responsibilities
Develop and enhance ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflow (RICEFW) in the PM, SM and PS modules of SAP
Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and end‑users to gather requirements, analyze processes, and propose technical solutions
Design and implement custom functionalities, user exits, and enhancements to optimize SAP system performance and meet business objectives
Perform complex debugging and troubleshooting of ABAP programs to identify and resolve issues efficiently
Conduct unit, integration, and performance testing of ABAP programs to ensure reliability and optimal system performance
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to peers, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices
Stay updated with the latest SAP ABAP technologies, tools, trends, and recommend improvements and innovations
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality SAP solutions on time and within budget
Handle production support issues; determine root cause and recommend changes to processes, development, security, or configuration
Participate in blueprinting and project design sessions as assigned to understand requirements and validate process approaches
Stay knowledgeable of SAP technical concepts, releases, patches, and applying OSS notes
Foster environment of operational excellence and innovation while maintaining sensitivity to costs
Provide on‑call support (rotation) during non‑business hours for emergency issues and EOP/DR support as required
Execute all work with high effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy
Establish and maintain partnerships with client organization, functional, and other IT team members
Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to co‑workers on PM related components
Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years of SAP development experience in PM, SM, and PS modules

Experienced with SAP web and integration technologies
Hands‑on experience integrating SAP with external applications such as web applications
