Equipment Integration Engineer The University of Texas at Austin is hiring an Equipment Integration Engineer to design, develop, and validate hardware and software solutions that enable integration of manufacturing and characterization equipment into production environments. The role ensures system reliability and performance through testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

About Us The Texas Institute for Electronics (TIE) is a University of Texas at Austin‑supported semiconductor consortium supporting defense electronics, semiconductor companies, national labs, and academic institutions. Its mission is to develop and execute a state‑of‑the‑art 3‑D heterogeneous integration manufacturing technology roadmap and to provide critical pilot manufacturing capabilities to meet national security needs and stimulate domestic economic growth.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and IT/MES teams to develop and deploy equipment interface software and hardware for process, metrology, characterization, and reliability tools.

Manage semiconductor equipment SECS/GEM communication and process characterization.

Document equipment integration requirements and as‑built per tool interface.

Configure and deploy RMS, FDC, and APC applications.

Track equipment integration development and deployment in project tracking and code management software.

Perform other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related semiconductor technical field with programming experience.

Prior experience writing equipment interfaces between semiconductor process and metrology tools and MES systems.

Semiconductor manufacturing experience with SEMI standards related to equipment automation: E4, E5, E30, E37, E40, E84, E87, E90, E94.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Microsoft Server.

Programming in C# and SQL.

PowerShell and shell scripting.

Salary Range TIE pays industry‑competitive salaries.
