We are seeking a dedicated
Security Worker
to join our team for the seasonal operation of our remote hotel in Denali, Alaska. This role is critical in ensuring the health, safety, and security of our property, guests, and seasonal employee base. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and adaptable to the unique challenges of working in a remote wilderness environment.
About Denali National Park & Preserve and Doyon/Aramark Joint Venture Summer days in Alaska stretch nearly endlessly, with up to 20 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice. Spanning 6.2 million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Denali, the highest peak in North America, and attracts over half a million visitors annually. Conveniently accessible by road – 4.5 hours from Anchorage and 2 hours from Fairbanks. Doyon Limited and Aramark have teamed up in a Joint Venture as the Denali National Park & Preserve's concessionaire. Open May to September, our operation manages transportation, retail, guest service, and food‑and‑beverage concessions with the National Park Service. The 100‑Bike Blue Bird Bus Fleet transports guests past the 15‑mile public access point daily during summer months, enabling hiking, wildlife viewing, climbing, and camping where few have set foot.
This is a seasonal role with ideal dates of
May 4 – September 20, 2026 . We offer competitive wages, paid holidays, sick pay, benefits stipend, on‑site housing, and a meal plan ($16/day all inclusive) along with local discounts.
Job Responsibilities
Monitor grounds, facilities, and common areas to ensure a safe environment.
Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, or safety concerns involving visitors or staff.
Conduct regular patrols of the property, staff housing, and service areas.
Safeguard against theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
Act as first responder in medical, fire, or security emergencies.
Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services when necessary.
Lead drills and preparedness exercises for staff.
Maintain accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.
Ensure compliance with policies, safety protocols, and state/federal regulations.
Provide courteous assistance to visitors and employees.
Support seasonal staff by fostering a safe and respectful workplace culture.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a security officer preferred.
Ability to gather and interpret information and accurately complete required reporting procedures.
Knowledgeable in search and seizure, constitutional rights, investigative and interviewing techniques.
Ability to work independently and under indirect supervision.
Daily contact with a wide range of people including guests, fire/police officials, and employees.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all investigations, incidents, etc.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lb.
Frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
Must be able to work days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as required by location.
