We are seeking a highly motivated Shipping and Receiving Associate ready to make a positive impact on our Warehouse team!
Job Purpose The Shipping & Receiving Associate ensures accurate, timely movement of materials and finished goods into and out of the facility. This role maintains inventory integrity, prepares and verifies outbound shipments, receives and inspects inbound goods, and keeps documentation and systems up to date to support production, customer fulfillment, and compliance requirements.
Role & Responsibilities Receiving
Unload inbound freight (parcel, LTL, FTL); verify counts against packing slips and purchase orders.
Inspect materials for damage, correct SKU, lot/batch, and quality; Escalate discrepancies to Purchasing/Quality.
Record receipts in the ERP/WMS; label and stage goods for put-away following FIFO/FEFO rules.
Complete receiving documentation (receiving reports, NCRs for damaged/incorrect goods).
Shipping
Pick, pack, and stage orders per pick tickets, customer specs, and carrier requirements.
Create shipping labels, BOLs, customs paperwork (as applicable), and close shipments in carrier portals.
Load outbound freight safely; confirm trailer seals and final counts; schedule pickups with carriers/3PLs.
Meet daily cutoff times for next-day and same-day shipments; communicate exceptions promptly.
Inventory & Documentation
Perform cycle counts, bin adjustments, and maintain accurate location labeling.
Update ERP/WMS transactions (receipts, transfers, adjustments, shipments) with complete, error-free data.
Maintain organized physical and electronic records (POs, BOLs, COAs, SDS letters, invoices).
Support audits and compliance checks; follow SOPs and work instructions.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Collaboration
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment per safety standards and certifications including maintaining daily forklift checklists.
Securing trailers with chocks provided. Keep docks, staging areas, and aisles clean and hazard-free; dispose of packaging properly.
Collaborate with Production, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Quality to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
Participate in continuous improvement processes (5S, Kaizen) and contribute ideas to streamline processes.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm.
Pay: $19-$22 an hour

Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of related warehouse experience in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment..
Working knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures, carrier rules (parcel, LTL/FTL), and basic freight classes.
Understanding of inventory controls (FIFO/FEFO, lot tracking, cycle counting) and warehouse layouts.
Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) and carrier portals.
Ability to read and interpret POs, packing slips, BOLs, work orders, and quality documents (COA/SDS).
Ability to calculate weights, and pallet configurations; select proper packaging to prevent damage.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet cutoff times, and adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
Clear, professional communication (written and verbal) with internal teams and external partners.
Skills & Competencies
Technical: Forklift operation, RF scanners, basic Excel/Office, label creation, and documentation accuracy.
Operational: Order picking/packing, dock scheduling, trailer loading, and damage mitigation.
Quality & Compliance: Improve CX, Visual inspection, lot/batch control, traceability, and adherence to SOPs.
Problem Solving: Ability to count and multiply. Root-cause mindset for recurring issues (e.g., short shipments, mislabels).
Teamwork & Service: Collaborative approach; reliable support to production and customer deadlines. Do whatever it takes mentality.
Safety Mindset: Consistent use of PPE, adherence to lockout/tagout and equipment safety practices.
Continuous Improvement: Identifies waste, proposes process enhancements, supports 5S standards.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and daily.
Must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, and twist daily.
Must be able to stand for an extended period daily.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely; climb on and off equipment repeatedly.
Work in warehouse conditions (varying temperatures, noise, dust) with appropriate PPE.
Manual dexterity for scanning, labeling, packing, and completing paperwork.
Visual acuity to verify labels, counts, and product condition, hearing sufficient for radio and dock communications.
