Job Purpose:
Operate forklifts safely and efficiently; handle all inbound/outbound freight properly and orderly; maintain warehouse area with good housekeeping; load/unload RJW trucks/trailers and outside carriers safely; ensure shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded; store stock properly; perform duties that provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient warehouse operation.
Operate reach truck and/or walkie rider.
General computer and handheld RF equipment knowledge.
Load and unload RJW trucks/trailers safely using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.
Flexible to work 10–12 hour shifts when necessary; not afraid of heights.
Pick and move stock ranging from 1 lb to 50 lb multiple times.
Ensure shipments are correctly staged and loaded.
Maintain orderly stacking and good housekeeping in the warehouse.
Process outbound cross‑dock freight as needed.
Oversee proper storage and movement of stock into storage racks.
Use warehouse operations sheets to pick customer orders and load on trailers.
Record and verify shipment accuracy against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries.
Ensure all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
Operate forklifts safely and efficiently following OSHA regulations and RJW safety policies.
Wear seatbelts at all times when operating the forklift.
Complete daily forklift maintenance inspections.
Handle all customer products properly and orderly.
Check deliveries for poor packing, general condition, and damage; alert Warehouse Supervisor; take photographs if necessary.
Report all accidents/ incidents, stock damage, or building damage to Shift Supervisor immediately.
Spot trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment for the day.
Maintain access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility, keeping them free of debris or snow.
Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.
Additional Responsibilities
Sense of urgency, accountability, and ability to work with limited supervision.
General computer and handheld RF equipment knowledge.
Read, write, and understand English.
Attention to detail and quality required.
Good communication, clear and concise, problem resolution, and people skills.
Flexibility in working overtime and covering other shifts.
PC skills helpful.
Major experience on reach truck or stand‑up forklift/EPJ.
Experience building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
Experience with cross‑dock freight process.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse.
Qualifications
3‑6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse (reach truck, stand‑up forklifts, Electric Pallet Jacks).
Good stable work record.
Education & Experience Required
High School Diploma or GED.
Warehousing certifications a plus.
