Part-Time Maintenance Worker
at
The Oaks Academy
in Brownwood, Texas.
The Oaks Academy is a secure post-adjudication facility located in Brownwood, Texas that provides comprehensive services to young men (13-17), using a trauma-informed, strength-based, gender responsive model. Through rigorous education, positive skill development, and individualized therapeutic interventions and treatment, we empower youth to reach their full potential. The facility features group, individual, and family therapy, on-site schooling, individual dorm rooms, and extracurricular opportunities for the young men. Responsibilities
Perform work orders including general building maintenance
Change light bulbs
Minor electrical repairs
Repair drywall, painting, paneling, wallpapering, sheetrock work
Hang doors; adjust locks and door hardware
Fix or replace broken windows and screens; hang pictures
Minor plumbing repairs; unplug drains
Replace leaky washers; re-lighting; replace and adjust heaters and controls
Maintain smoke detectors and emergency lights
Maintain and install swamp coolers/air conditioners
Replace floor tiles, carpeting and linoleum
Repair roofing
Grounds maintenance/irrigation if needed
New construction as needed
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Be at least 21 years of age
Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test
Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry
Schedule To be determined and approved by supervisor.
Pay & Benefits Pay : starting at $20/hour depending on relevant education and experience
