The Oaks Academy is a secure post-adjudication facility located in Brownwood, Texas that provides comprehensive services to young men (13-17), using a trauma-informed, strength-based, gender responsive model. Through rigorous education, positive skill development, and individualized therapeutic interventions and treatment, we empower youth to reach their full potential. The facility features group, individual, and family therapy, on-site schooling, individual dorm rooms, and extracurricular opportunities for the young men. Pay

: starting at $30/hour depending on relevant education and experience

What you will do

General building maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, repairing drywall, painting, paneling, wallpapering, sheetrock repairs, installing or adjusting doors and locks, repairing or replacing windows and screens, and hanging pictures or fixtures.

Conduct minor electrical and plumbing repairs such as unplugging drains, replacing washers, relighting pilot lights, and repairing heaters and control systems.

Maintain and install HVAC units, swamp coolers, and air conditioners.

Repair or replace flooring materials including tile, carpet, and linoleum.

Perform roofing repairs and grounds maintenance/irrigation as needed.

Assist with new construction and remodeling projects.

Oversee daily operations of the water treatment plants.

Coordinate maintenance projects and process work orders to ensure timely completion.

Work with the purchasing department to request and manage maintenance supplies.

Perform preventative maintenance on all facility equipment and ensure all site equipment remains in proper working order.

Submit weekly logs detailing hours worked and tasks completed to the designated supervisor.

Perform vehicle maintenance when necessary to ensure fleet vehicles remain safe and operational.

Respond promptly to emergency radio calls and provide support as needed.

Schedule, manage, and implement the site maintenance plan.

Provide coverage for maintenance staff during days off or absences.

Complete data entry and updates in the preventative maintenance system.

Serve as the site Fire Marshal, conducting all required weekly and monthly inspections related to sanitation and fire safety.

Act as backup for the site Safety Coordinator when needed.

To be considered you should

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Be at least 21 years of age.

Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test.

Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.
