Serve as a representative to answer questions and offer guidance, monitor sites, and maintain relationships with park partners and concessions while on roving patrols throughout National Parks. Overview
Locations include: Death Valley National Park, Death Valley, CA San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park, San Francisco, CA War in the Pacific National Historical Park, Hagatna, GU Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, Saint George, UT Olympic National Park, Clearwater, WA North Cascades National Park Service Complex, Newhalem, WA North Cascades National Park Service Complex, Stehekin, WA Salary
$17.27 to $25.12 per hour. Salary does not include locality or cost‑of‑living pay. Positions
Open to the first 75 applicants. Position will close when 75 applications are received, possibly before the scheduled closing date of 12/28/2025. Responsibilities
Provide visitor services including patrol, roving, fixed post assignments and public programs. Participate in day-to-day operation of a seasonal contact station. Site monitoring and resource protection. Operate two‑way radio equipment. Respond verbally to visitor inquiries, offering information and guidance. Assist visitors with problem resolution, questions, or complaints. Handle medical or other emergencies to the extent of training. Monitors special use permits and maintains relations with partner organizations, concessions and stakeholders. Educate customers regarding rules, regulations, and safety concerns to ensure visitor safety and resource preservation. Interpret and orient visitors to parks and recreation areas, including environmental projects and cultural resources. Provide information on management policies and legislative updates. Operate general computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Access, and similar. Gather information from reporting parties concerning accidents/incidents and notify appropriate personnel. Assess situations to determine appropriate responses in accordance with policy guidelines. Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date. GS‑04 Level One year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that demonstrates ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for this role. Two years of education above high school (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. Equivalent combination of experience and education that equals 100% of the qualification standards. GS‑05 Level One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑04 level in federal service. Four years of education above high school (120 semester hours or 180 quarter hours). Equivalent combination of experience and education that equals 100% of the qualification standards.
