ADRC/Aging Unit - Transit Scheduler/Dispatcher
Position: Transit Scheduler/Dispatcher for individuals with disabilities and the elderly. The role coordinates transportation requests, enters data into VIA, schedules bus trips, dispatches specialized transit drivers, and ensures efficient flow of transportation service.
Key Responsibilities
Take and process transportation requests accurately.
Respond to questions from passengers, agencies, and the public.
Enter data into VIA or equivalent program and schedule bus trips.
Record and enter any changes in bus schedules throughout the day.
Provide dispatch instructions and ensure all pick‑ups/drop‑offs are made; assist drivers with problem resolution.
Monitor bus locations to keep them on schedule and communicate any changes.
Maintain supply of required forms, perform filing, and report client billing needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Success Factors (KSA's)
Ability to multi‑task across phone calls, dispatcher radio, and computer.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Professional Products.
Locate addresses within Rock County.
React quickly to unforeseen situations and stressful conditions.
Excellent telephone and communication skills.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Use copy machine and general office equipment.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Position subject to random drug and alcohol testing; negative result is required.
Essential Job Functions
Physical: Ability to sit, stand for long periods; mostly indoor office work.
Equipment: Use of all office supplies.
