Job Purpose To operate forklifts safely and efficiently; handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and orderly; maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping; loading/unloading of RJW truck/trailers and outside carriers safely and using proper procedures; ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly; responsible for properly storing stock in the warehouse; perform duties to provide material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving activities. Work from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers. Maintain forklift safety at all times following all safety policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.

Operate a reach truck and/or Walkie Rider.

Have a general understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.

Load and unload RJW truck/trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.

Be flexible to work 10 to 12 hour shifts when necessary and not afraid of heights.

Pick and move stock from 1 lb. to 50 lb. multiple times.

Ensure all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.

Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.

Process outbound cross‑dock freight as necessary.

Oversee storing stock properly in the warehouse and moving product into the storage racks.

Work from warehouse operations sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load on trailers.

Record and verify the accuracy of the shipments against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries.

Ensure all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.

Operate forklifts safely and efficiently following all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures.

Complete daily forklift maintenance inspections.

Handle all customer products properly and orderly.

Check deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and free of damage. Alert Warehouse Supervisor of any problems, taking pictures if necessary.

Report all accidents/incidents, employee damage of stock, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.

Spot trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment for the day.

Maintain access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility, keeping them free of debris or snow.

Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Wearing of seatbelts at all times when operating the forklift.

Additional Responsibilities

Possess a sense of urgency, accountability, and be able to work with limited supervision.

General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.

Read, write, and understand English.

Attention to detail and quality a must.

Good communication, clear and concise, problem resolution, and people skills.

Flexibility in working overtime when needed, and supplying coverage to other shifts.

PC skills helpful.

Major experience on reach truck or stand‑up forklift/EPJs.

Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.

Experience in cross‑docking freight process.

Ability to work in a fast paced warehouse.

Qualifications

3‑6 months forklift driving experience in a warehouse using reach truck/stand‑up forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks.

Good stable work record.

Education and/or Experience Required

High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED).

Warehousing certifications a plus.
