Forklift Operator (Union/Night Shift) - $21.57/hr Location: Maryland Heights, MO. Night shift 7:00 pm–7:00 am (12‑hour shift) on a 2/2/3 schedule.

Overview Graham Packaging is a leading manufacturer of sustainable packaging. Forklift Operators perform product handling and lift‑truck duties, stack, transport, and store work‑in‑process and finished goods, maintain material flow, complete line‑driver reports, and assist production line employees during breaks.

Professional Responsibilities

Follow all established safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies and procedures.

Perform safety lift‑truck inspections, battery checks, and report equipment malfunctions.

Participate in continuous quality improvement projects.

Review daily production schedule with the Shift Supervisor, bring materials to production lines, and notify the supervisor of low material levels.

Remove finished goods from production lines back to assigned warehouse locations.

Provide accurate information of unloaded materials and materials used to warehouse personnel.

Remove, store, and unitize production scrap bales, informing warehouse personnel when a full load is ready.

Maintain accurate records of materials used and produced, reporting them in appropriate paperwork.

Remove finished goods in hold to assigned locations, stack neatly, and verify product‑code tags.

Participate in physical inventory taking.

Supply each production line with knock‑down cases, dividers, pallets, and take full pallets to the warehouse for loading.

Assist in stock‑handler duties or load trailers as needed.

Bring hot glue cases, color concentrate, glue totes, slip sheets, and rework supplies to production areas.

Follow forklift procedures and complete safety and maintenance checklists.

Handle damaged finished goods and raw materials and report them on the line‑driver report.

Communicate shift totals and machine totals with supervisor and fellow operators.

Complete required written documentation.

Assist in relieving downstream teammates for breaks and lunches.

Use forklift to move pallets of finished product to stretch‑wrap machines and staging areas; complete finished‑goods reports.

Maintain supplies of corrugated and other packaging supplies at each machine.

Visually inspect completed pallets for quality and conformity to packaging instructions.

Limited travel may be required.

Qualifications Minimum of 3 years forklift experience preferred.

Requirements

Maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.

Computer usage and typing skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to communicate with internal and external customers.

Work under pressure, meet deadlines, maintain a positive attitude, and provide exemplary customer service.

Work independently and complete assignments within prescribed routines and accepted practices.

Communicate facts and information clearly both verbally and orally.

Collaborate well with others.

Compensation USD 21.57 per hour, plus a USD 0.41 night‑shift differential.
