Research Specialist II – Biological Sciences Division, University of Chicago
Position to support research on gene regulatory networks in developmental and adult organ homeostasis for the Moskowitz Lab.
Base Pay Range:
$50,000 - $70,000 per year.
Department BSD PED – Pediatric Genetics and Genomics, Moskowitz Lab. The Department offers care at UChicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital and satellite sites, with mission to improve the health of every child.
Job Summary Research Specialist II will perform routine assignments related to scientific research projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory policies, analyzing data, writing reports and manuscripts, and assisting in presentations. The role is funded by grant, at‑will, and dependent on continued grant funding.
Responsibilities
Develop or amend study protocols, data collection tools, and databases; provide general administrative support.
Maintain technical and administrative support for research projects.
Analyze and maintain data and/or specimens; conduct literature reviews.
Prepare reports, manuscripts, and other documents.
Install, set up, and perform experiments under direction of the principal investigator.
Perform other related work as needed.
Education Minimum: College or university degree in a related field.
Minimum Qualifications Knowledge and skills developed through
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
ChIP‑seq, ATAC‑seq, GRO‑seq, RNA‑seq.
CRISPR genetic engineering.
Rapid protein degradation using Degron system.
Bioinformatics.
Cardiac functional analyses.
Mouse genetics.
Lentivirus transduction.
Cell culture experience.
Protein‑protein interaction analysis using mass‑spectrometry.
Working Conditions Laboratory setting.
