Research Specialist II

Pay Range Base pay: $50,000 – $70,000 per year
Department BSD PED - Pediatric Genetics and Genomics – Moskowitz Lab
Job Summary The Moskowitz Laboratory seeks a Research Specialist II to support multidisciplinary projects focused on gene regulatory networks that control organ development and adult organ homeostasis. The role requires the development of independent competence in basic research approaches and includes both technical support activities and independent advancement of scientific research projects. The position is at-will and fully funded through contractual grant funding, with employment contingent upon continued grant support and satisfactory job performance.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing or amending study protocols, data collection tools, and databases; provide general administrative support.
Maintain technical and administrative support for research projects.
Analyze and maintain data and specimens, conduct literature reviews, and assist with preparation of reports, manuscripts, and other documents.
Install, set up, and perform experiments under the direction of the principal investigator, interacting with students and laboratory staff.
Perform other related work as needed.
Education Minimum requirement: college or university degree in a related field.
Work Experience Minimum requirement: knowledge and skills developed through less than two years of work experience in a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.

ChIP‑seq, ATAC‑seq, GRO‑seq, RNA‑seq
CRISPR genetic engineering
Rapid protein degradation using Degron system
Bioinformatics
Cardiac functional analyses
Mouse genetics
Lentivirus transduction
Cell culture experience
Protein–protein interaction analysis using mass spectrometry
