Description Material Handlers perform any of the required functions in the Distribution Area to ensure that all daily requirements are met. Activities include supplying assembly and filling lines with components and transfer finished goods out of production.

Material Handlers are expected to perform material handling activities in a manner consistent with manufacturing department's goals and objectives, while adhering to workplace safety policies and procedures. Each Estee Lauder Co. employee will practice an individual commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility in the workplace.

Position Responsibilities

Loads and unloads materials shipped to and from interplant and outside facilities.

Verify the accuracy of any transactions and compare it to what was actually produced, including physical inspection of goods to validate condition.

Operate manual and power material handling equipment to retrieve, putaway and replenish materials throughout the facility and load onto transportation vehicles.

Utilize Warehouse management systems to document and process shipping and receiving orders.

Ensure correct pallets are used and built based on EXACTA and Customer supplier criteria.

Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and stock control as required.

Troubleshoot and communicate problems to ensure timely turnover in shipping/sortation area.

Complete a Pre-Shift Checklist on all powered material handling equipment including battery water, charging, and cleaning.

Maintain a clean work environment, including sorting pallets, wrapping stacked cardboard on pallets, and communicating any quality changes.

Follow all safety and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).

Perform various other duties as assigned including assisting with the training of new employees.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Some experience in general warehouse environment preferred

Proficient computer skills and ability to navigate Basic Microsoft Windows Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)

Forktruck certification mandatory after 90 days

Effective communication skills and demonstrated knowledge of English, reading and writing.

Must obtain a Powered Material Handling Equipment (PMHE) License

Mechanical Aptitude

Medium physical effort required

Lifting 50 lbs. maximum and frequently lifting and carry up to 35 lbs.

Ability to stand for several hours daily.
