Requirements and Preferences

High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

General Knowledge of equine and farm animal species, breeds, common medical issues, and the anatomy and physiology terminology of these animals.

Knowledge of Google Suite, email, and scanners.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills.

Ability to interact professionally with clients, faculty, and staff in demanding situations.

Ability to interpret VHC guidelines and client needs to determine emergencies.

Ability to manage multiple phone lines while assisting in-person clients.

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Emotional intelligence, ability to empathize and mentally process difficult cases.

Previous client service experience in a veterinary emergency, ICU, or medical setting is preferred.
