Maintenance Aide Part Time - Parks & Recreation Under the general supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, performs a variety of tasks assisting in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of City of Pembroke Pines park facilities and recreation areas.

Examples Of Essential Functions

Perform daily upkeep of park grounds including mowing, edging, trimming, raking, weed removal, and litter collection.

Clean and sanitize restrooms, pavilions, playgrounds, and recreational areas; replenish supplies as needed.

Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the facility and dispose of waste properly.

Clean and maintain commercial prep kitchen areas and appliances.

Assist with the maintenance and repair of park amenities including irrigation systems, picnic shelters, fences, and signage.

Operate small equipment such as blowers, trimmers, mowers, and pressure washers safely and efficiently.

Support preparation and cleanup for special events, programs, and rentals hosted by the Recreation and Cultural Arts Department.

Perform inspections and report safety hazards, vandalism, or maintenance concerns to supervisory staff.

Assist with painting, landscaping, and minor construction or repair projects as assigned.

Follow all departmental and City safety standards and operational procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Previous experience in parks, facilities, or grounds maintenance (preferred).

Valid Florida Driver's License (preferred).

Ability to safely operate basic hand tools and maintenance equipment.

Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds.

Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with general public and co‑workers.

Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
